The Australian Taxation Office classifies home renovations – including kitchen and bathroom renovations – for a rental property to be capital improvements which home owners are able to claim for, but not in the same financial year as the project was completed and paid for. Depreciation and costs incurred during the renovation will be taken into account in the following years. Please consult your accountant for more detailed information.
Cost of your renovation project can vary based on many factors including the type of materials, accessories and the complexity of the build and design. Depending on the size of the project it can cost from $5,000 up to several millions. Small bathroom or kitchen ronevations tend to be quicker and cheaper, whereas full home renovations including multistory constructions will cost a lot more. The time frame for a bathroom or kitchen renovation will vary depending on the size of the space to be renovated, the scope of the work and the availability of materials. An average sized bathroom renovation may be completed in as little as three to four weeks and in the case of an average sized kitchen, the timeframe may be just two to four weeks – in both cases, this estimation is based on there being no structural problems or other unforeseen issues which may arise. Additional plumbing and electrical work can both add to the time a renovation takes to complete for both kitchens and bathrooms. Please check out the specific areas of this website re Bathrooms and/or Kitchens to see more detailed information concerning our timeframes for work completion.
We will offer you the option of a full or partial kitchen renovation and we can provide you with a quotation for both alternatives. Fully renovating your kitchen is definitely not a DIY project. You may be able to paint the cabinet doors or take care of installing items like the splashback and counter tops if you have the skills required. There are many complex issues which may arise during the bathroom renovation process from as early as the stripping out stage when structural work issues, water damage etc may be identified. A full bathroom renovation is not a DIY task. At Yes I Can Project Group, we only use licensed professionals at all stages of the bathroom renovation process and our work carries a 15 year warranty. We use the best products and the best tradesman to ensure second to none workmanship.
