Cherrybrook
The owner is a young man in his 20’s whose parents gave him the responsibility of renovating the entire house.
He initially approached us to have the staircase replaced, a $30,000-plus job. We assured the owner that we could give him the look he was after but at a significantly lower price. We also ended up doing the floors, new doors, the painting, all the blinds and a custom day-bed. We repaired all the windows which were old-fashioned sash windows. Prior to the renovation, the entry and the staircase was a very dark brown colour giving off a gloomy appearance.
It took two labourers eight days to ‘prep’ the staircase and the landing area but the outcome after we had finished was absolutely stunning! The doors were very high end with glass inserts and we also installed bifold doors with glass inserts downstairs to separate the entry from the living room area. The floor was a Berry Alloc high pressure treated AC6 floorboard, one of the best floorboards that money can buy and the same floorboard as used at Heathrow Airport. It’s one of only a few floorboards in the world which is AC6 rated. So it’s a super-durable flooring and the customer was very happy with it. We also installed roller blinds throughout the downstairs area and did some repairs to the bathrooms and other ‘touching up’ upstairs, in addition to all the painting downstairs.
The customer couldn’t have been happier!
"My parents' brief was to have a space that we can use and enjoy and feel proud to be in - as well as bringing guests into. We've already had guests over and they all compliment the work."
