Father’s Day is one of the most significant days on the calendar as it gives us the chance to honour our dads – to thank them for all they have done for us and for how much they have influenced our lives and helped to mould us into the people we are today.
This red letter day which originated in America has been around since the early 1900’s and unlike Mother’s Day, which is celebrated on different dates in various parts of the world, the first Sunday of September is universally recognised as Father’s Day.
So Sunday week, September 6, is the big occasion!
